Ellen Yu is an award-winning, London-based colourist originally from Taiwan, with a strong foundation in fine art and a passion for visual storytelling. A graduate of the National Film and Television School (NFTS), she began her career in high-end commercial post-production, assisting on campaigns for brands like Porsche and Sony, where she developed a sharp eye for detail and a solid understanding of the interplay between tone, texture, and mood. Her work has earned her both Gold and Silver for New Talent at the 2026 Creative Circle Awards. Her diverse portfolio spans features, branded commercials, shorts, animation, and documentaries, including films broadcast on Sky and Together TV, as well as projects recognized by BAFTA, Cannes (La Cinef) and Grierson. Most recently, her feature film, The Devil Whispered My Name, celebrated its UK premiere at the 2026 Raindance Film Festival.
